To stay ahead of market trends and industry developments, our team attended this year’s Canton Fair. As one of the world’s largest trade exhibitions, it offered valuable insights into global innovations in product and packaging design.
Through follow-up interviews, we gathered key takeaways and first-hand observations from our colleague on emerging market trends and future directions. We had the pleasure of interviewing Apple Chen, who represented our company at the fair. Let’s take a look at her impressions and key observations from the event.
Q: Which products or markets were the main focus of this year’s Canton Fair?
A: The second phase of this year’s Canton Fair mainly focused on categories such as gifts and festive decorations, home displays, creative gifts, and cultural & creative merchandise.
Q: What were our main objectives for attending the exhibition?
A: Our primary goals were to understand design and packaging trends in the international gift and festive product markets, observe the purchasing directions and category changes of buyers from Europe and the U.S., and explore potential suppliers and new material applications in Southeast Asia.

Q: What differences did you notice this year compared to previous exhibitions?
A: Booth designs were noticeably more focused on product presentation. Many exhibitors showcased their products in larger, more eye-catching displays, making their booths more attractive and distinctive.
Q: Were there any popular product categories, technologies, or design trends that stood out?
A: There was a clear rise in DIY products, mixed-material applications, and reusable structures. In addition, more brands are simplifying packaging to highlight the product itself, reflecting a refined and eco-conscious design approach.

Q: What industry trends did you observe from this year’s exhibition?
A: The overall trend centers on sustainable materials and eco-friendly craftsmanship. Product packaging is moving toward a simpler, more minimalist style that still maintains quality and refinement.
Q: If you had to summarize your biggest takeaway from the visit in one sentence, what would it be?
A: “The Canton Fair not only showcases products, but also reveals the evolving trends and transformations in materials and packaging for the future.”

Q: What are you most looking forward to seeing at the next trade exhibition?
A: I hope to see more eye-catching new product showcases, along with innovative eco-friendly materials and sustainable packaging applications.
